As always I would like to send a "THANK YOU" out to those of you who continue to enjoy....(clears throat)... this journey of learning with us year after year. As you know, with ANY homeschool year there will be changes, and sometimes it's not little changes, sometimes those changes are BIG,TRAIN DERAILING CHANGES...if you know what I'm saying. I have been thrown for a LOOP this week, possibly you too....with the science site/link for all grades. For some reason the site, which I REALLY liked, is no longer available. SO, in grand homeschool fashion, we move forward, find new material, adjust, and carry on....as FRUSTRATING as it can be....that's what homeschoolers do BEST!! We continue to move on in a creative, positive, flexible manner, adjust accordingly and get back on track...even when it seems the train on that track seems to have just derailed. As of TONIGHT I have done my best to find a science curriculum that is FREE, and as close to the original site we were using, since that seemed to work well. I hope that even with our original science link no longer available at this point, you continue on with a wonderful homeschool year! If you have ANY questions, please feel free to connect with us on our questions and comments page!
Hi all! As of 2-22-17, I honestly am not sure what happened regarding our Pre-K to High School digital science links. It seems to me that the blog page that the links were, or are, associated with is down. THANK GOODNESS I kept record of each grades links. I have, of this morning re-linked all of the RAISINGSWEETBLESSINGS science links. I hope that the few days that our science links have been "missing" didn't cause too much interruption to your school days. All links should be up to par now though. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE, while this situation was corrected! PLEASE feel free to address any links/pages/ resources that are not working, and we will tend to the problem ASAP! Thank you again, and happy learning!
So..........some things work......... some things don't. That's homeschool for ya! Especially when you are trying to find your own resources. You MAY or may have not noticed that some links have been changed. These include the elementary grades language arts, and the middle and high school history/geography/social studies. I think you will find the elementary language arts to be a lot less material to cover, I REALLY enjoyed the previous power points...but it just ended up being SO much information on a daily basis, it was just too much for us to cover...so, we simplified. Oh! you will also find a change in links for the elementary online math practice as well, we were too bored with the previous link....(sorry!) As far as the middle and high school history/geography/social studies....ok, it IS a paid site....BUT, you can watch partial bits and pieces of the videos...but more than anything you can use their lesson plan as an outline of topics to study, and you will just have to do a little bit more research to find videos, links, etc. to help you study these topics. I just feel that this is more structured than the previous link. Hope this helps, and is not super confusing...so sorry...but THANK YOU again for joining us along our journey of learning!!
Today's the day!! Not only is it our local school district's first day back to school, it's OUR first day back as well!! This is the day that I have spent the last 3 months on this site preparing for. I am crossing my fingers that all the time, hard work, and preparation helps this day go off without a hitch. I want to THANK everyone who has stuck with us through all the changes and re-arranges......I KNOW it's been a lot at times, and confusing. BUT here we are! and I am so pleased at the way the site has turned out. I feel like I have finally compiled our FAVORITE sites and now they are easy to find and use on a daily basis. I hope you enjoy them too, and your school year goes smoothly, as always if you have ANY questions or suggestions etc. please don't hesitate to connect with us on the QUESTIONS page. Changing gears, looking at the clock, I just have to say, I am SO thankful that as homeschoolers, these cute little people get the rest they need, if they were in school, oh goodness, we would have been up almost 2 hours ago....and they would have had to stand out in the rain today at the bus stop.....again, not saying ANYTHING negative about public schoolers, I still work for the public school to this day, but in my happy homeschool mommy mind...I'm happy that as the bus rolls on by, my littles are still snug as a bug in a rug in their beds, getting the rest they need, no pressure, no alarm clocks, the day will begin at their own pace....I mean, when they get into their teens and adulthood....they will have PLENTY of time to wake up to alarms, get ready for work or classes, rush out the door......so, as of now, my homeschool mom heart is happy, and I am excited to see how our first day goes!! So my hat is off to you homeschoolers!! I hope, if today is YOUR first day back too that it is WONDERFUL!! All in all , whenever you "start", I pray blessings over you and your family that the 2016-2017 year is the BEST year yet!! Happy learning!!
The truth is...... a new school year is upon us, there is no denying it, the school supply aisles at all the local stores are a constant reminder of this. So, at this time,as home-schoolers, let's take a moment of silence to reflect upon the JOYS of WHY we choose to homeschool .........awwww yes, how my soul breaths in relief as I think about how we will continue to positively benefit as a family who home-schools, how our children will benefit and grow in so many positive ways this year, and every year..... with one on one attention in their studies, taking time with each subject as needed, moving at their own pace.... one on one attention from mom and dad,to just talk, and spend time together, lunch dates! Our study breaks .... just walking around the lake, to clear and calm our mind before we tackle math problems. Child lead learning as curiosity sparks!" Did you see that dragonfly?! I wonder how fast they can fly?!" ...Sleeping in or napping as needed. Extracurricular activities in the middle of the day, baseball anyone? Play-dates at the park before school work begins, running out that extra morning energy!.... Just to name a few of our perk! Oh the experiences and joys of being home-schooled compared to being in public school on a daily basis.......awwww yes, my heart is happy ! (Just the thought of watching that big yellow school bus drive PAST our home, and not stop AT our home......now that's peace in itself) Laughing out-loud here~
Well, my friends! Here's to you and your homeschool journey and adventures of 2016-2017!! May this be the most ** AwEsOmE** homeschool year ever!! HAPPY LEARNING!!
So, since there has been some updating and .....um....major facelift action happening on our Raising Sweet Blessings site, what do you think so far? Do you like the new layout? Is it easy on the eyes? What about navigation of the site, are you able to find what you are looking for quickly and easily? We appreciate any questions, comments, and concerns~don't be shy! Let's hear from you! And as always THANK YOU for joining us on our journey of learning!
Since the school year for many is officially "over"....I decided to take the next few months to really work on and add to the curriculum notebooks. As of midnight last night, I am soooooo happy&pleased to say that I am FINALLY excited about the layout of the site. Honestly, I have struggled with feeling content with the design and layout for YEARS, but, today, I feel relieved and happy about how the site has come together. Once again, I am going to send another shout out to all of you who have bravely stuck with us through all the changes recently and over the years.THANK YOU!!!!!! I would have never thought working on a website would bring so much joy to my life, but I feel that I have found my niche& my happy place....just knowing that I may be helping another family along their journey of learning, that makes my heart SMILE!SO....as of right now, I am content, and honestly,I don't blame you if you breathe a sigh of relief as well when I say....the site is coming into it's main form. From this point on, you won't see much of any changes to the sites layout, only additions in information to the curriculum notebooks, but as far as the layout and the pages....they are set at this point, so consistency is what you will find from today on when you visit the site, and I am very happy about that. Again, thank you all!!! Please like and share our site with others if you have found it to be helpful!! Happy Learning!!
WELL....time sure has flown by this year. There have been so many changes in our style of schooling- What about you? Have you found this year to be any easier or harder? Or have you come upon new ways and ideas to help your school days flow smoother? We sure have!
If you remember, our notebook curriculum started out very organized, a very daily routine, very scheduled...BUT...as our littles have gotten bigger, they have become more independent, and more active in extracurricular activities. We needed to make a change, a big one, and I wasn't sure how, or when, or where...I was boggled. But, I knew I had to do something to make sure the gears on our machine of school kept running smoothly. So, last year was a rough draft of the main idea I was working towards, it was a....oh, what did we used to call them...aw yes, a brainstorm...quickly drawn up. THANK YOU times a million to those of you who stood with us through that change, I KNOW it was quick, and I'm sure hard, compared to what the site was originally...but I seriously can not thank you enough. Your sweet words, and encouragement kept me working, and working, and working on this site....knowing, not only did I have a vision I wanted to see fulfilled, not only for my children, but for those of you using this site as well, I couldn't let you down. SO...when all the brainstorms settled, the worked started.....today, you can see the progress on our menu. If you scroll down the menu, you will see "page in progress" 1st-5th grade. CHECK IT OUT! I REALLY hope you will be pleased with the progress that is being made, the layout, the concept....my goal is to make school as painless as possible time and money-wise. As always questions, comments, etc. are ALWAYS welcome! Connect with us here on the blog, or on Facebook! Thank you again for all of your support, and I pray that you continue to walk with us on this journey of learning, despite a few road bumps here and there, until this new vision for our notebook is complete! : Happy learning!!
Hi Friends! For awhile now we have been using the social media outlet Facebook to connect with may of you who have been using our curriculum notebooks, who are interested in our curriculum notebooks, or those who just by randomly browsing happened to land upon our page and decided to stick around..haha! As of a few days ago our original account was deleted, and a NEW page has been created which has been easier for us to maintain. PLEASE feel free to join us at anytime! And as always please keep our facebook site a fun and safe place for everyone! THANK YOU!! ALSO ..... I would like to bring up the topic of the curriculum notebooks. If you have been with us from day one,...sometime back in 2012, you KNOW this site has gone through MANY changes, some lasting and some not so much. This year has been a year where ...things just weren't working as smoothly as they had in the past, the kids are growing, getting bigger, smarter, more independent,...because of that, adjustments to the way we taught had to change...according to each child, and to the group as a whole. I HOPE that the way the curriculum is set now is getting you through the year.....I KNOW it's not what it used to be...no where near...originally, with each day planned out for you. What i WOULD like to surprise you with is THAT ONCE AGAIN IS IN THE WORKS!!!!! Everyday the curriculum notebooks are being worked on, changed to only become the best they have ever been, again with each week outlined, and resources included...where...basically, if you really wanted...all the work is done for you. If you would like to see some of the work in progress....scroll down the main menu on the home page to the PAGE IN PROGRESS and you will see what is in the works.....along with more surprises in store. I am VERY excited about the new changes, and the help that it can give to many schooling families. I hope you like them too. I pray blessings over you and your families, and as always questions, comments, and feedback are ALWAYS welcome. Happy learning!
First of all I would like to THANK YOU all VERY much for hanging in there with us through all of the recent changes to our curriculum. I know change isn't easy,BUT...these changes are necessary to make our homeschool life and days function much easier. I appreciate all the feedback that has been coming in the past few days because of the changes. I know and understand that ones character quality of flexibility can be tested at times like this, so I definitely appreciate the encouraging messages and the understanding from families about the recent changes.
Change happens, there are times it can make us better, can make life easier, and homeschooling more manageable. As of right now, I feel VERY good about the recent changes, even with a few minor tweeks this morning. I can finally sit back in my chair and reflect on what has just been updated and smile knowing that in one week, my life as a homeschool mom of multiples has just got easier, and It makes me smile in excitement!
I really hope that those of you who have stuck with us on our JOURNEY...and that it is...continue to do so! You will find wonderful resources throughout the curriculum, MANY that we have already been using. If you are joining us for the first time, PLEASE do not hesitate to ask questions! You are not on this journey alone, and if you feel that this curriculum in no longer of help to you, I want to thank you for joining along with us this far! If you have any questions about similar online curriculums.lesson plans, materials, or activities, also, feel free to ask! This curriculum may not be for everyone, but it has to work personally for my family...this is our daily school...and for me...the less stress the better. Thank you all for your support! I pray over you and your family and student/s this homeschool year!
