First of all I would like to THANK YOU all VERY much for hanging in there with us through all of the recent changes to our curriculum. I know change isn't easy,BUT...these changes are necessary to make our homeschool life and days function much easier. I appreciate all the feedback that has been coming in the past few days because of the changes. I know and understand that ones character quality of flexibility can be tested at times like this, so I definitely appreciate the encouraging messages and the understanding from families about the recent changes.
Change happens, there are times it can make us better, can make life easier, and homeschooling more manageable. As of right now, I feel VERY good about the recent changes, even with a few minor tweeks this morning. I can finally sit back in my chair and reflect on what has just been updated and smile knowing that in one week, my life as a homeschool mom of multiples has just got easier, and It makes me smile in excitement! I really hope that those of you who have stuck with us on our JOURNEY...and that it is...continue to do so! You will find wonderful resources throughout the curriculum, MANY that we have already been using. If you are joining us for the first time, PLEASE do not hesitate to ask questions! You are not on this journey alone, and if you feel that this curriculum in no longer of help to you, I want to thank you for joining along with us this far! If you have any questions about similar online curriculums.lesson plans, materials, or activities, also, feel free to ask! This curriculum may not be for everyone, but it has to work personally for my family...this is our daily school...and for me...the less stress the better. Thank you all for your support! I pray over you and your family and student/s this homeschool year!

Daily activities and lessons? Weekly activities and lessons? What does this mean?! Actually, it's pretty easy. When you click on a grade, you will see that there are daily assignments, and weekly assignments. The DAILY assignments, mean that you work on those sites or activities EVERYDAY. There are links and activities, where the lesson material changes on a daily basis, you are never studying or doing the same thing twice...generally.
Now, the WEEKLY links, assignments and lessons, are topics that you study everyday for ONE WEEK.....or.....if it really sparks an interest...you can study that topic/stay on that topic for as long as you would like. We generally tend to stay on one single, specific topic for one week, do studies on it everyday...and then move on the next week ,to topic 2. The weekly activities do require a little bit of planning, it may be helpful to borrow books, or videos, or worksheets that help reinforce the topic/subject that is being studied for that week. Youtube and Pinterest can be of great help, along with a local library. Worksheets can easily be printed out by typing in the topic ...for example, I want to find worksheets about "apples"...type in "apple worksheets" in your search bar....and you'll easily find worksheets to print! We have found this mix of daily and weekly lessons works very well for our family. It keeps things fresh, interesting, and helps our student/s easily retain the lesson information! Daily and weekly lessons also help us be aware of areas of study our student/s may need more time/practice on. Everyone is different, we all learn at our own pace, and we like to make sure that the information/lesson is grasped well...that our student/s is confident with the material before they move on,and we have found working with the daily and weekly activities helps to monitor that much easier. If you have any questions feel free to write us on our Questions page! We would be happy to help as much as possible! Well! Our school year is about to start! We pray blessings over you, your family, your student/s, this homeschool year! As always..Happy Learning!!!!! Welcome!! As a homeschool family, our "style" and "methods" for schooling have changed over the years. We have found that our family has very much embraced our children becoming more "independent and delight lead learners" -with structure. The most important "tool" for school for our children is their very own public library card.
This year we have decided to use a reading log worksheet and a list of books to check out at the library, along with allowing them to also read books of their choosing. We will continue as well to use many of the sites/activities/worksheets we have used in the previous years, but will no longer list them as day to day activities. Instead, each DAILY and WEEKLY link/site will be listed as a page, and you will be able to print the activity/worksheet/ etc. at your own pace and in your own timing. We are so excited to see our children learning, growing, thinking, becoming more and more curious about the world around them, history,science,art.....we are so thankful to be a homeschool family...LIFE is an adventure and learning happens everywhere!! We have an entire world to see, smell, touch, taste, hear....there is NO limit to learning!! We thank you all so much for continuing on this journey of learning with us!! HAPPY LEARNING!! |
Welcome!
